jQuery("#accordion").accordion is not a function 13 Years ago
I installed Accordion FAQ in my Jooma!-installation according to the faq on this site. But it doesn't hide the answers, it just shows them all.

Firefox returns this error:

Code:

jQuery("#accordion").accordion is not a function
Source: http://127.0.0.1/joomla2/faq.php
line: 38

This is the head (with line: 38 being 'mouseover'):
Code:

  <link rel="stylesheet" href="/joomla2/plugins/system/scjquery/css/ui-lightness/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.css" type="text/css" />
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/css/accordionfaq.css" type="text/css" />
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/plugins/system/scjquery/js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/plugins/system/scjquery/js/jquery.no.conflict.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/plugins/system/scjquery/js/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/media/system/js/mootools.js"></script>

  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/media/system/js/caption.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/jquery-1.3.2.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/jquery.easing.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/jquery.dimensions.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/jquery.accordion.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/preparefaq.js"></script>

  <script type="text/javascript">
jQuery.noConflict();
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
var preparefaq = new prepareFaq();
preparefaq.exec( { id: 'accordion', header: 'h3', autonumber: true } );
jQuery('#accordion').accordion( {
  header: 'h3'
, autoheight: true
, alwaysOpen: false
, active: false
  , animated: 'bounceslide'
  , event: 'mouseover'
} );
});

  </script>

..and this is on the page:

Code:

      </div>

I tried different settings of including the code in the Joomla!-settings, but it doesn't seem to help.

What could be wrong? Where should I look?

Hm, it wasn't working for hours, but now I installed another module, something completely else, and now it works. Strange! Well, anyway, sorry to have bothered you!

Hi,

The only thing that I noticed with the code that you posted is that there are 2 copies of jquery 1.3.2 being included on the page. I'm not sure what you changed to make it work but having 2 copies of the same script could be a problem.

The code in the header is still the same now, but it works. I also tried setting jquery to 'no', but that didn't work either then. Now it is on 'yes'. The header I see now:

Code:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="/joomla2/plugins/system/scjquery/css/ui-lightness/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.css" type="text/css" />
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/css/accordionfaq.css" type="text/css" />
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/plugins/system/scjquery/js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/plugins/system/scjquery/js/jquery.no.conflict.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/plugins/system/scjquery/js/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/media/system/js/mootools.js"></script>

  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/media/system/js/caption.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/jquery-1.3.2.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/jquery.easing.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/jquery.dimensions.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/jquery.accordion.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="/joomla2/modules/mod_accordionfaq/js/preparefaq.js"></script>

  <script type="text/javascript">
jQuery.noConflict();
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
var preparefaq = new prepareFaq();
preparefaq.exec( { id: 'accordion', header: 'h3', autonumber: true } );
jQuery('#accordion').accordion( {
  header: 'h3'

Hi,

The only thing I can think of is that maybe your browser cache wasn't being refreshed and then it started working when the browser caught up.

Not sure. I really dislike it when things start/stop working for no apparent reason. It gives me an uneasy feeling.
